Speaking engagements.
One such guest speaking opportunity was in New Zealand at the Wine Capital of the World symposium in Christchurch - I attended as the UK expert explaining how to promote premium New Zealand wines.
I was honoured to be asked to judge in South Africa at the Iconic Veritas awards.
I have also judged the Argentinian Wine Stars Award, involving visiting the finalists and announcing
Communicating about wine, it's past, present and future.
My Grandfather, Ronald Avery - in the picture above me, and my father John, were well known for travelling the world learning about, talking about and Judging wine.
Their extensive travels and relationships with producers gave them a huge amount of knowledge, and a wonderful array of international friends.
My travels have continued that trend

Corporate speaking, entertaining and tastings.
I have hosted tastings for clients such as Lazards, Saffery, NATO leaders at the ARRC base in Gloucester, and the Royal Tank Regiment both Officers' and Sergeants' messes.
For Lazards I hosted two pre-dinner tastings of the incredible wines that I had selected for their celebratory dinners. Providing insights and notes and pairing them with the dinner

Before, during and after dinner speaking.
Introducing wine and food matching, giving votes of thanks and acting as the Master of Ceremonies.
I have hosted wine and food pairing dinners for the International Wine and Food Society (IW&FS) Leeds branch and the most recent Europe and Africa AGM weekend.
For the third time I will be at the Hood Arms in Kilve for their guest chef Evening.

Talking about all things wine
I have been interviewed on Film, TV, Radio, Podcasts, Youtube and Instagram live.
In person, I have talked to groups of people numbering 9 - 150 (wine tasting with small numbers is quite exciting.)
Manning tables at Trade events. Pouring samples, waxing lyrical about the wines.
After researching and reading information supplied, I will be able to man your stand, pour samples, talk knowledgeably about the products, and facilitate communications to enable the producer/agent to take the next step.

Please do get in touch if you are looking for any consultation, be that on a cellar, restaurant wine list or anything vinous.

My younger brother, graduate of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he also passed the DUAD (wine tasting) at the University of Bordeaux and managed the wine shop Cousin et Company also in Bordeaux.
He judges at IWChallenge and co-hosts the weekly podcast Talking of Wine with Joe Wadsack

He too is 5th generation Avery but pursued a life treading the boards and has been seen on small and big screen.
Whilst resting in London he has solo hosted a variety of tastings for
PTA's, wine appreciation groups and organised wine tasting at both Oxford and Bristol Universities.

As you can see here at the Winchester Wine Festival (where he was also at School) We have worked together before and Richard is more than capable of conversing with clients easily shifting between encouraging beginners and talking to the Bordeaux expert.

"Mimi,
Congratulations – that was a tour de force. As we would say in Scotland, pure dead brilliant. Perfectly organised by you, and Bruno presented it so well. And the wines were superb. It was the highlight of 2021!
Thank you for taking on the responsibilities of arranging it all. We certainly enjoyed it enormously.
Many thanks again,
BtB, Duncan".

Mimi hosting the NSPCC fine wine challenge held at Bristol's We the Curious. Raising £6,000 on the night.
"Hi Mimi
You were brilliant on Thursday. It was a really fun evening. We all enjoyed the quiz on our Commanderie table.
The quiz questions were great if pretty challenging for Bordeaux lovers!
There was a great atmosphere in the room and plenty of noise thanks to the excellent wines and your presentation. You managed to keep everything swinging along, it was great.
Everyone I spoke to was really enthusiastic about the whole evening.
Maybe another wine event for NSPCC in few years time?!
A huge thank you for supporting NSPCC. You are a star.

Chair of Bristol NSPCC
